Blair Fox

Coach Blair played basketball at the University of Kansas from 2001-2005 where she made the Academic All-Big 12 team her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons and was the recipient of Shebra Legrant Newcomer Award, Adrian Mitchell Sportsmanship Award and the Sheila Ullman Coaches Award during her career. Blair also played professional beach volleyball from 2008-2010 on the AVP Tour, Manhattan Beach, CA being her home beach throughout her professional volleyball career. During high school in Overland Park, KS, Blair earned 12 varsity letters and was recruited by D1 schools in volleyball, basketball and softball. She was named the Kansas City Sports Commission Athlete of the Year, won two Kansas state titles in basketball and made the Kansas All-State 1st Team in volleyball and basketball her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

Since the ending of her professional athletic career, she has lived around the world and coached middle school basketball in Munich, Germany, varsity girls basketball at Batavia HIgh School (suburb outside Chicago, IL) and, most recently, coached at Lower Merion High School (Ardmore, PA) where she helped lead the varsity girls basketball team to the most wins in 15 years. 

She also turned her passion for player development into her own basketball academy, Fox Performance Academy (FPA). FPA focuses on private and small group coaching and was started in Chicago, IL in 2016, then moved to Philadelphia, PA in 2019. Every athlete that has graduated from FPA has gone on to play basketball at D1 and D2 level.

Doc waltz, strength & conditioning

Bret Waltz is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (PT, DPT) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS).  He currently owns his own company, DocWaltz LLC, that specializes in Performance Physical Therapy, and Sports Specific Training.  

In his many years of practice Bret has been fortunate to have worked with athletes from a variety of sports but has found his niche in tennis and golf.  He currently works with ATP and PGA tour players, and has played a key role in helping his athletes achieve success at the highest level.  In tennis, Bret has been a part of 2 Grand Slam doubles titles, a Masters 1000 Singles and Doubles title, and a singles and doubles ATP World Tour Finals appearance.  Before moving into the private sector, Bret spent 8 years working as the Head of Athletic Training Services and Strength and Conditioning Specialist for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Player Development.  It was there where he was responsible for the care of many of the US professional athletes on tour today, as well as many high level collegiate and junior players. 

Bret’s experiences has provided him the opportunity to travel the globe working with many top American players at many of the major tennis events, including the 4 grand slams: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.  

Bret’s approach to physical therapy is centered around injury prevention.  He helps clients maximize their function with the use of injury prevention screens, education on proper movement patterns and biomechanics, and using multiple hands on techniques that improve soft tissue and joint mobility.  Some of the services he provides include dry needling, neuromuscular re-education, proprioception balance training, spinal/joint traction, joint mobilization, manual stretching, soft tissue mobilization, and massage.  Bret received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami, and has been practicing for over 10 years as an orthopedic physical therapist.  

As a strength and conditioning coach his main focus is performance enhancement.  To achieve this he covers all areas of fitness with his clients including tissue mobility, joint ROM and flexibility, muscle activation, and overall strength and conditioning tailored to his clientele’s specific activities.  

Bret lives in Scottsdale, AZ with his wife and 3 kids.  In their free time, they love to hike, swim, exercise, play sports, watch movies, and spend time with extended family.
